During the Month of Mother’s Day,
we wanted to help the mothers who are missing that special child in their life.
Healing experienced through the arts,
at no cost to the mothers.

So we created the first, ever Healing Paint Session.
The entire event was wonderful—the room filled with tears, but most importantly, some laughs. So many different wheels were turning to make this possible…
Here’s some details that you may not know.
About our sponsors.
We had more sponsors than we could have asked for, all thanks to Champ’s and You.
Champ’s Barbeque from Wetumpka, AL (located on 231) approached me after hearing the story of Jobe and said,
“ We don’t know what you need or how we can help, but we want to help in any way that we can.”
We were not sure yet when or how to request their help, but this became the perfect event for the occassion.
And then of course, YOU !
As an organization that has not received any grants (as of June 2026), we wanted to comfortably fund this endeavor. We opened up registrations for the first 12 mothers who wanted to join; but that is when You changed things.
After providing a link to “Sponsor a Mother” we had enough funding to open the registrations to 15 mothers.
The mothers who were able to attend the first Healing Paint Session
We had a total of 15 mothers show up. 15 women were able to have a collective experience of healing and memories.
And of course, we were honored to be aided in this endeavor by Sunshine and Pixie Dust’s art instructor Brittni Smith from Wetumpka, AL.
Brittni has been ranked top artist in the county for the past few years, while Sunshine and Pixie Dust are constantly striving to create an entertaining atmosphere and are sought throughout the surrounding areas to host events.

Ashley H. (mother of Jared Jr.) participated in the event and said,
“It is so encouraging and helpful to be surrounded by other women who have been through the same style situation and understand. …
This truly was an amazing event and a special time. I had a great time and this painting means so much to me!! The women I interacted with were so sweet and understanding, the instructors (sunshine & pixie dust) were amazing, the food was delicious! Atmosphere was great- super event!! “
We are so grateful to the people who stepped up to make a difference in the lives of the disenfranchised grievers, you have no idea what you mean to us—and to these women, these mothers.
Below are just a few examples of how this experience has helped these mothers on their road to healing.
We are lucky to have been able to put this event together with the help of the board members, the supporters, Champ’s, and The Kelly Fitzpatrick Center of the Arts
We were so overcome with emotions, it was hard to see just how the event was affecting everyone.
After everything was said and done, many of the mothers came up to us and expressed their deepest gratitude to being part of the event.
We are genuinely grateful to these mothers who decided to step up and help us make this first Healing Paint Sessiona success.
Their patience and kindness was reflected in the art that represents their beloved children.
We do not deserve you all, but beyond grateful that you have poured yourselves into this event.
